Supported by the state of Vorarlberg and the city of Dornbirn in Austria, we were able to bring the story of Maria to life, a Colombian bolero singer who defied her brother's disapproval to light up radios, concert halls, and television in the 1950s. While in the middle of her career, amid the political unrest happening at that time, she decided to pack her dreams and head north to the United States.

For fifty years, María built her new dream: a family, a marriage, a quiet American life. Her once-great career became a memory tucked away in old records and photographs. But now at 93, something unexpected happens: one last chance to sing.
